Hilary Mantel

Dame Hilary Mantel was a British novelist who became the first woman to win the Booker Prize twice, for Wolf Hall and its sequel Bring Up the Bodies. Her trilogy on Thomas Cromwell and the court of Henry VIII redefined the historical novel with its intimate, present-tense intensity before her death in 2022.
