R.F. Kuang is a Chinese-American author who published her debut The Poppy War, a brutal grimdark fantasy drawn from twentieth-century Chinese history, while still in her early twenties. A Marshall Scholar with graduate degrees from Oxford, Cambridge, and Yale, she went on to bestsellers Babel and Yellowface, winning the genre's top awards.
