Richard Thaler is a founding father of behavioral economics who won the 2017 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for showing that people are predictably irrational. His book Nudge, co-written with Cass Sunstein, inspired 'nudge units' in governments worldwide; he even appeared in the film The Big Short to explain the hot-hand fallacy.
