Dennis Lehane is an American crime novelist from working-class Boston whose atmospheric thrillers, Mystic River, Shutter Island, Gone Baby Gone, have been adapted into acclaimed films by directors from Clint Eastwood to Martin Scorsese. He has also written for prestige television including The Wire.
