Héctor García was a CERN software engineer who moved to Tokyo, wrote the Geek in Japan blog, and — with Barcelona writer Francesc Miralles — interviewed a hundred elders in Okinawa's longest-lived village for Ikigai. Translated into 60+ languages, it launched the Japanese-concept publishing wave and made 'the reason you get up in the morning' a global vocabulary word.
