Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of BookYol (bookyol.com and the BookYol apps), operated by the BookYol team ("BookYol", "we"). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. This is a plain-language version; a counsel-reviewed version will replace it before paid launch.
1. What BookYol is
BookYol is a goal-based learning service. It turns ideas from published books into structured learning journeys ("Yols") made of daily steps ("Stations"), with progress tracking, audio narration, and review features. BookYol content is original editorial synthesis — it summarises and teaches ideas with attribution and is not a substitute for the underlying books, which we encourage you to buy.
2. Your account
You need an account to save progress. Keep your sign-in method secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 to use BookYol. One account is for one person — team plans cover multiple seats.
3. Free and paid plans
Selected Yols are free. Premium unlocks the full library and features, at $4/mo · $19/yr (₺59/mo · ₺399/yr in Türkiye) (student and team fares are offered separately on the Programs page). Prices include VAT where applicable and may change; changes never affect an already-paid period, and Founding-fare locks are honoured as advertised.
4. Billing, cancellation, refunds
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime in one click from your account; access continues to the end of the paid period. Statutory withdrawal and refund rights under Turkish consumer law (and your local law) are unaffected — contact us and we'll apply them.
5. Acceptable use
Don't copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute BookYol content; don't share accounts; don't reverse-engineer the service; don't use BookYol to break the law. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service after notice, except in serious cases.
6. Intellectual property
BookYol's content, design, and software are ours or licensed to us. Book titles, quotes, and author names belong to their rights-holders and are used with attribution. If you believe content infringes your rights, write to us via the contact page and we will act quickly (see also our publisher policy).
7. Your data and content
Your progress, saved Insights, and messages remain yours. You grant us the licence needed to operate the service (store, sync, display your data to you). See the Privacy Policy for the details.
8. No professional advice
BookYol teaches ideas from books about negotiation, money, focus and similar topics for general education. It is not legal, financial, medical, or psychological advice. Decisions you make remain your own.
9. Service changes and availability
We improve the service continuously and may change or retire features. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. If we ever discontinue paid features you've paid for, we will refund the unused period.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Termination
You can delete your account anytime from the app or by contacting us. We may terminate accounts that materially breach these terms. Sections that by nature survive (IP, liability, disputes) survive termination.
12. Changes to these terms and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Questions: use the contact page at bookyol.com/contact. Governing law and venue will be stated here upon incorporation.
