Dan Gardner

Dan Gardner is a journalist and author from Ottawa who wrote for years as a columnist on policy and risk before turning to books. Risk, in 2008, examined why people fear the wrong things, and Future Babble, in 2010, examined why expert predictions fail and why we keep listening.

Future Babble drew heavily on Philip Tetlock's research, and the two went on to write Superforecasting together in 2015, Gardner supplying the narrative and the portraits of individual forecasters. He later co-wrote How Big Things Get Done with Bent Flyvbjerg, on why large projects run over and the few that do not.
